What is ghosting?

Have you heard this term before? It has been around for a few years but I  have just heard about it recently.

Ghosting is when someone who you have been seeing (dating) suddenly disappears out of your life with no warning. They don't reply to your texts. They don't answer your calls. They delete you from Facebook, they run away and you have no idea why.

This can be quite disconcerting as nobody likes to be rejected, especially when everything was going well, in your mind anyway.

Have you ever been ghosted on?

Well, please remember that it says more about the other person than it does you.

People ghost because they don't want to hurt the other person's feelings but in doing it they actually are really hurting them. If you ghost someone you are not thinking about the other person's feelings at all. You are being extremely selfish and it says more about your immaturity and lack of social skills than anything else.

If you are ghosted upon, as difficult as it may sound, try to remember that in a way the other person is doing you a favour. They are obviously immature and they are not worthy of your time and think yourself lucky that you have found out about that part of their personality now than later down the track.
