LIFE IN A BIG CITY: IS IT A PARADISE?

I was asked the other day why I like Tokyo.

Like most big cities, there is usually lots to do. There are many interesting areas. It is a very convenient city in that it is easy to get around. The trains run on time and there are safe if some what congested roads where you can drive quite easily and find your way around.

Another thing about big cities is that it is easy to become just another anonymous face in the crowd. This of course can bring with it challenges like loneliness and the sense of isolation.

It's ironic, isn't it, that even though you have 20 million people around you, you still feel lonely.

Although, maybe you enjoy that? Do you? Do you like the fact that you have your small group of friends and acquaintances and that you don't have to say hello to every second person that pass by?

At the end of the day, a big city is what you make of it. You can take the opportunities that it has or you can let it beat you.  I have seen the faces of many people that it has beaten and it is not a pretty sight, believe me.

If you want to say here, don't let it beat you. Carve out your own niche.
